Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration started with Nirvana at 14—a raw, emotional shift from the ’70s/’80s bands I grew up on like Boston, & 38 Special. Green Day, Sum 41, and Fountains of Wayne shaped my pop-punk roots, while Oasis drew me into softer, melodic rock. I’ve always loved the Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair—and lately, Hole’s raw edge. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Every opportunity in life is a blessing, and I’m always grateful for them. Performing would be a booster engine for the spaceship that is my career—something that takes a lot of power to launch, with very little room for error. It would give me the chance to influence people in a live setting the way my heroes did. I love the idea of connecting with new fans and fellow musicians—it’s the kind of exposure that opens doors to real conversations and future collaborations.
What would you do with $50,000?
While I’m more focused on the experience than the prize, $50K would be life-changing! I’d finally be able to finish my album with the producer I love working with—someone I currently can’t afford to keep collaborating with. It would cover studio time, revisions, and even promotion to reach radio Play-listing. It’d also Help me move from Charlotte to LA to fully chase this dream. I’d use every dollar to invest in my music and the future I believe in.
