Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I grew up back-and-forth between a small town and South Carolina and Germany every other year because my parents got divorced. My parents were having affairs there was alcoholism neglect and abuse. It was dysfunctional but singing and songwriting became a source of strength, healing and hope for me. I taught myself to play guitar & got a scholarship to study voice in NYC. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I feel certain that performing at the global Citizen Festival would be the launching point for my career! Four years ago, I was in a wheelchair with Crps and was told by doctors I might never walk again and through this experience, the music is pouring out of my soul and opportunities are presenting themselves! Just last week I was asked to open for Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty and he is now a fan of my music! I have paid my dues and this feels like the stars aligning!
What would you do with $50,000?
I would pay off my debt, record a Grammy nominated award winning album, donate a portion of royalties received to research CRPS & ALS in honor of my mentor Wayne Warnecke and use my music platform to speak and bring hope to those living with complex regional pain syndrome! I am not only walking again. I am dancing! I feel deep in my soul that it is my life’s purpose and destiny to share my voice, my music & my story of overcoming to spread hope and touch the lives of many people.
