Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I see inspiration everywhere. Singing since before I could talk, beginning songwriting at just 8 years old, and growing up surrounded by music, I have become accustomed to consistent innovation and creativity. I embrace my unoriginality in being part of the majority of artists working hard to become someone, but I believe my ability to connect with an audience is authentic in my own way. As I said, music is half of me. One can't exist without the other.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This opportunity could expand my fan base and give me room to grow as an artist and a person. If I were granted this opportunity and look back on it 5 years from now, I would be glad to have made the connections that aren't accessible to me where I am currently. Opening doors to future collaborations and deals, as well as media coverage. This would boost my reputation as a smaller artist, emerging into a credible new artist in the industry.
What would you do with $50,000?
I'm an artist. I have a passion, but also a plan. I would hope to invest this money in professional music production and a brand/marketing team. I would like to move to LA to expand my network and thrive in the heart of it all. I plan to end my time at University of Colorado Denver by pursuing more serious ambitions in LA, as it more aligns with my desires to create and hone my craft.
