Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration lies primarily in curiosity, how ideas develop and grow within a creative process. A combination of story telling, design, and technical engineering inspire me to make music that’s built on an esthetic of experimentation and play. Rick Rubin, Mike Dean, and Frank Ocean are some names of which who’s minds I regard very highly.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be very beneficial to see what effect my work has on a large group! An important part in making the music is having an understanding of what people are most receptive to live and loud. Having that experience may very well help me decide how to really anticipate the listener moving forward…and try to reciprocate that energy within my musical world.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest it into what truly would’ve gotten me to that point…the music and the team/family I have around me. The past 9 years I’ve given my heart and soul to this process. From writing to recording to production, audio engineering/ mixing, mastering, and overall artistic portrayal and esthetic…all for the love of the art and the vibe of the sounds. The discipline and confidence in my abilities as an artist and performer have helped me through so much in my life.
