Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from genres which are full of emotion and rich in live instrumentals like soul and the blues. I am inspired by artists who pour their hearts into every lyric and note; the likes of Sam Smith, Adele, and Mpho Sebina. I find that some of the most potent songs often come from raw emotion and introspection, which is what influences me when I am writing and composing songs. A perfect blend of personal experience and what is happening around me is always my focus.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at such a global event would be monumental and transformational for my career. It is a platform that will give me the opportunity to share my music with a large and diverse audience. It would give me the chance to connect with people from different walks of life who may find solace and healing in my songs. This is the part of music which has no language. Moreover, being in such a prestigious event will open doors for me to collaborate with likeminded musicians and professionals.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest it diligently into building my musical brand with a focus on my mission, which is to create music that people can connect to, learn from, and heal with. A significant amount would go into cinematography and music; producing high quality recordings and visuals that capture the emotional depth and uniqueness of my music. This will ensure that my message reaches the listener in the most impactful way. Additionally, another portion would go to effective promotion of my music.
