Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I love My Chemical Romance and the Grateful Dead. That weird little dichotomy is kinda where I fit musically. I love the music as a whole but I love the dead’s live work, recording their shows and making that a part of their scene. Aside from them I love Yo La Tengo, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Sonic Youth. etc.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I think my songs are really there and as a band we’re tight, we just need eyes/ ears on us. Hopefully this festival performance/ Rolling Stones interview will open our audience to get people that would like us to hear us. Also it would be good to get more ears on us locally as we are from New York.
What would you do with $50,000?
Invest in the music. Spend some on merch and touring stuff and spend a LARGE chunk of it on recording equipment. I’ve been working at various studios so I know how to use the equipment, just don’t have the funds so get it myself. So I’d spend the money on a Motu, and a few Neve Pre’s, maybe a CL1B if i could, and then just record mine and my friends music.
