Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We’re influenced pretty heavily by the alternative and nerdrock/geekrock genre, so bands like: barenaked ladies, they might be giants, weezer, etc. Also we started as a folk punk duo emulating bands like: the mountain goats, violent femmes, and spoonboy. We also pull a lot from more contemporary indie punk like: Jeff Rosenstock/Bomb the music industry!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The exposure would be so so valuable for us. We really just want more people to hear us. So far we’ve been able to pack house shows and dive bars (and we love that), but a festival would really take us to the next level.
What would you do with $50,000?
We’d absolutely invest it straight back into the band. We’d love to increase our promotional capacity for one thing (and fund tours), but that kind of money would really give us the ability to produce a super high quality followup to our first studio album (which we also think is pretty high quality! but it definitely had a limited budget).
