Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I've been writing songs since I could write words. As life has gone on, my inspiration has shifted and grown during different seasons, and through those changes I have been inspired by how storytelling brings purpose and meaning to our lives. Transforming my experiences into music has been a way for me to make sense of my life and contribute something to the world. It has been a crucial way that I have been able to create something that resonates with others, bringing healing through connection.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As an independent artist, having the opportunity to perform at the Global Citizen Festival would be a game-changer for me. Getting the chance to entertain on this huge platform would give me the chance to be heard that I have worked for my whole life. It would elevate my platform to a global audience and affirm to me that the sacrifices I have made as an artist have been worth all of the years of striving to keep creating and growing as an artist. It would ignite the next chapter of my career.
What would you do with $50,000?
Having just moved back from 8 years abroad, I am dreaming of being able to establish a home studio. I would love put this 50K to work, building a space for me to create. When I was abroad and had a small home studio, I released a song a week for 2 years on Patreon. Once I have a creative space again I'll be right back at it, working through my ever-expanding catalog of 2500 songs. I'd love to have the equipment to record as many songs as possible and to be able to hire my dream-team of artists.
