Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration is anything in my daily life. I write about things around me and am inspired by the songs I hear. I like blending different styles together to get the big sound that I love. I’m also very inspired by ‘60s music like The Beatles, The Beach Boys and the pre-disco Bee Gees. I like to chase certain tones and sounds by using different recording styles. I’m driven by creating in my personal recording studio (my basement) and I get better every day.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would help me by having my talent shown off to big names in the industry as well as establish connections with other artists. It would also help with promoting myself and my songwriting ability. Needless to say it would be a very good opportunity to achieve my dreams and do what I love for as long as I can.
What would you do with $50,000?
Since school is important, I would finish my education at Columbia College Chicago and get my bachelor’s in Audio Arts. Then, I would put away a lot of the money for my future and try my best to get a job in the industry and eventually start my own recording business, music store, or the ultimate dream which is to get signed to a label as an artist, songwriter, or even a studio musician.
