Who or what is your musical inspiration?

Gil Scott-Heron (1949 – 2011) a civil rights activist, musician and author. His gift of turning daily news into social satire and attaching thought-provoking rhythms was part of his genius. Gil's music was jazz & blues and his spoken word reflects the turbulence & uncertainty of our times with a satirical edge told in the tradition of oral poetry & storytelling. Gil wrote The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, won a Posthumous Grammy & a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Award.


How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?

Performing at the Global Citizen Festival can boost our career by showcasing our artistry to a global audience. We can build relationships with influential figures, attract new fans and opportunities. The visibility can lead to more bookings, collaborations and better opportunities for us to share Gils timeless words. Performing at the event can enhance our image and position us as socially conscious artists. It can also help us reach new heights so we can make a positive impact on the world.


What would you do with $50,000?

$50,000 would fund our youth program giving youth the opportunity and freedom to express themselves without judgment to help them find personal satisfaction and acceptance of their own unique voices; create entrepreneurs and authors. Youth have the opportunity to sing, recite, dance, scat, rap, heal, rebuild and sell their he/art. Designed to foster creativity and critical thinking and promote a deeper understanding of social issues through the exploration of art.
