Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from a lot of different artists I grew up listening from what my parents played— Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Sinead O’Connor, Beth Orton and Lucinda Williams (to name a few). As I grew up, I listened to music of all genres and acquired inspiration from everything I listened to. Mostly, my inspiration is from my own life experiences and feelings— I channel that inner world into melody and create my songs.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would give me the platform as a small, self-recording and self-producing artist (not managed or represented by an agency in any way) the opportunity to showcase my music to the world. I have a small following from putting my online which grows a little each time I put more music out— however this performance would be complete shift for me.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use some of this money to help get myself and my siblings through our college payments, and create a studio for myself to record in. I currently record in my closet and it would be nice to make my own little studio. Other than that, I’d save my money, and donate some to certain causes.
