Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration and motivation comes from my two best friends, Manny and Deven, who heartbreakingly passed away as i was growing up. They opened my eyes and ears to so many sounds and they always matched my passion and love for music. So when they passed, i began to write music and i’m proud to say i think they would love it and are smiling from wherever they call home now knowing they are staples of my inspiration and drive to keep going.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing is one of the only things in life that makes me feel alive. The stage is one of the only places that feels like home. Performing at this festival would mean more than i can put into words simply because it would make my dream feel tangible. Closer than ever. And i would NOT take it for granted.
What would you do with $50,000?
With the money won I would finally buy the equipment i need to build a home studio so i can create freely and as often as possible. Then i would use it to help my mother pay off her debt so she can live worry free and enjoy herself. If anything is left after that i would put it all into my brand and my art, whether that be merch, vinyls, CD’s, anything to help me flush out the ideas ive had in my head for so many years.
