A call to arms of love like Billy Bragg inside the punk imperative of the Clash. High Frequency Dave finds inspiration in the power of moving sound through body and mind of those who dare to care -- Bowie, U2, New Order and Johnny Cash all finding the tone of a time for us to share within our souls. HFD draws from the poetry of Dylan with a musical rawness of early Elvis Costello.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
With a debut album complete, performing at the Global Citizen Festival will provide an insane lift to the presence of High Frequency Dave in the world of music. We love the magic of making music in the studio but to play it live and explore the intimate connection with an audience is the true mission of the music. GCF lets us find an early audience to support our next step in developing community around us and sustaining our souls in the pursuit of shared sounds that have deep meaning.
What would you do with $50,000?
Combining the visibility and network access bump of the GCF, $50,000 will provide sufficient funds to launch a tour-- e.g., early input from tour manager and PR/Promotion support. These costs can be mitigated further if the visibility of the Festival earns us an opening gig with someone running a tour. Either way we will also use the funds for the dual purpose of tour rehearsal and new song development for a second album-- $50,000 to launch a voice for our time in the frequency of love!!
