This band is back from the dead. Our singer divorced, came out, quit a corporate-ick job and wrote a record about it called “Queen of Fools”
Thank you for generously supporting Hot Lava in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to empower Global Citizen in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Women: Kim Deal, Jenny Lewis, Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, the list goes on. Also, we friends in the local scene keep us on our toes.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Absolutely, the exposure would be incredible. We’d be there with bells on (the drum kit).
What would you do with $50,000?
We would press the record we just recorded on vinyl. Right now it’s in digital form. We’d do full liner notes like the good old days. We’d tour on it. We’d chip in at our local Girls Rock camp. Maybe I’d even splurge on a new drum throne.
