The time is right for a grudge-holding, Nashville-based Australian girl who makes petty sound pretty. :)

Who will perform at the Global Citizen Festival, appear in Rolling Stone, and take home $50,000?
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My heroes range from artists like Bruce Springsteen to Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile to Taylor Swift. I write vulnerable, autobiographical songs about what it means to be human - capturing both the light-hearted and the devastating, the joy and the despair. I share a lot of who I am on stage (for better or for worse...) and I like to think my music has an "If you don't laugh, you'll cry" element to it. I often describe my music as sad girl rock. :')
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a huge deal for me. Having toured extensively throughout Australia, the UK, Europe and the US in intimate listening rooms, the chance to play a big festival here in the US would be an incredible opportunity. I spent my teenage years cutting my teeth playing dive bars in Western Sydney where I grew up before relocating to Nashville, so to play this festival would help me reach so many new fans in my new home.
What would you do with $50,000?
I'm an independent artist so $50,000 would go a long way in helping me record my next album. I'm releasing a new album this month but have already written tens of songs for my next project. Some of the songs slated for my next record include co-writes with Lukas Nelson, Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow) and Mike Meadows (Taylor Swift). I plan to hire session musicians I've worked with on previous releases, including Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello) and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers).
