Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My first memory in the realm of music was Neil Young’s Sugar Mountain playing on the radio as my mother cleaned the kitchen. Life long friend & mentor Erik Olson music director of my church taught theory and helped shape my eclectic taste in all genres. My discovery to change peoples lives in a positive way simultaneously helping myself cope with trauma is a true blessing and I find inspiration in that as well as friends, family, and my son. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing there will be the catalyst of my dreams. It’s my belief that given this opportunity, it will allow me to connect with professionals I otherwise would never have the chance to meet. It would definitely give me more confidence and a chance introduce my music to the world.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d make my mortgage up-to-date Invest in my community and set aside a savings fund for my 4 1/2 year-old boy. Also, I would definitely donate a percentage to Lori‘s Children’s Hospital in Chicago who nursed and brought to good health my son that was born 3 1/2 months early.
