Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I have a background in musical theatre and grew up watching classic movies, so I’m definitely inspired by those sources, but I also draw from artists/bands like Green Day, Pinegrove, Janis Joplin, Field Medic, MCR, Bauhaus, Marianne Faithful, and The Smashing Pumpkins.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I’ve known since I was very young that I was born to be a performer. Now that I’ve had the time to work on my craft and find my point of view, I need something to ignite the firecracker of my career. The Global Citizen Festival could very well be the thing that catapaults me into doing what I’ve always dreamed of.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I would firstly invest in recording my first album. Then I would put some of the money towards the next steps of my career, like putting my first tour together. I would also love to donate a significant amount of the $50,000 towards organizations like Freedom Reads, PBS, and the Human Rights Campaign.
