Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My music is a gift I receive from the outpouring of the Spirit of God; the only reason I am an artist is because He redeemed my experience of heartbreak by turning it into a beautiful creative awakening from which my first album was born. He continues to inspire me as I draw nearer to His heart and discover more of His goodness and compassion, which gives me meaning and hope in my suffering, and with which I seek to encourage others.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The heart of my music is global, drawing on diverse inspirations and weaving together English, French and Spanish all while capturing the universal joy and grief of the human experience. Performing at Global Citizen Festival would mean getting to share my music with the very audience it is intended for- people who value cultural diversity and a united, compassionate world.
What would you do with $50,000?
As an independent artist with a part-time job, $50,000 would be transformative. Funding my own projects is costly—I have an EP and a second album in progress, and this support would help realize them fully and at a high caliber. It would also cover live performance costs, which often cause artists to lose money. With funding, I could share my music more widely and bring my creative vision to life on a global stage.
