Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from real life, my struggles, my healing, & my rebellion against being boxed in. I’m inspired by the strength it takes to persevere, especially as a solo mother, as a as a Black woman carving her own lane. Artists like Tina Turner inspire me deeply not just for their sound, but for her power, freedom, and refusal to be silenced. I channel all of that into my music: it’s powerful, emotional, and full of fire because I’ve lived it.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would absolutely would be a defining moment in my career not just as an artist, but as a voice for empowerment and change. My entire mission is about using music to liberate, to unite, and to awaken people to their own power. To stand on a global stage that aligns with justice, equity, and human dignity would amplify everything I stand for. It would give my music a larger platform to not only move bodies, but to move minds—and that’s where real transformation begins.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use $50,000 to invest in high-quality music production, visuals, and marketing to elevate my reach as an independent artist. I’d also pour into my True Talent music and arts school—creating accessible online programs for youth and adults with disabilities, and funding empowerment-based music workshops in underserved communities. I would pay for my daughter's endeavors, tennis, dance, etc. It would help me change lives through sound, story, and self-expression!!
