Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Music, itself, inspires me. Its creation is a gift of the Divine Spirit in us all. I owe it so much! As a teenager with suicidal depression, my music saved me. With a guitar, paper and pen, I wrote my heart's song into my music. Music lifted me from the darkness, always there to help me rise above the sadness, to express the love in my heart, and the joy and hope for the future. I believe if you listen to my music, you will hear and feel that in my songs. Healing and light shine!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As a child, I always dreamed of being known for my singing and original songs. Now , my dream of fame and fortune has changed. Having recorded an album with a second in process, I play my music to people to bring them joy, rather than my fame. I am no child, a mature older woman, having seen the results of poverty and injustice going on right now. I agree with the mission with the festival to help manifest positive change in the world. So this would be a beautiful note to enhance my career!
What would you do with $50,000?
With a gift of $50000, there’s no doubt that my house could use some long awaited construction repairs! In addition, I would be donating to worthy causes that have lost funding, such as homeless shelters and food banks. I work with students whose families live in poverty. We all must do our part to lift each other up.
