Who or what is your musical inspiration?
When I began my musical journey my inspiration was my many guitar heroes: Carlos Santana, Neil Shon, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton. As a songwriter I have always drawn from my own life experiences and therefore have told my story thus far in my songs. Today I find that family and fatherhood inform my writing the most. Becoming a father of two beautiful children has completed me in a way that is truly deep and profound.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Fest would be a career affirming experience. This is a hard industry to navigate on your own and I have been swimming in the deep end of this business by myself for many years. It would be a life raft for the Jake Castillo Trio and would help us to finally find solid ground after years of treading water.
What would you do with $50,000?
50,000 dollars would go a long way in blessing my family. I would definitely consolidate some bills and also utilize some of the money to put back into my music career: studio upgrades, Promotional Expenses/Radio Promo Packs, etc
