Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I'm largely inspired by grunge (as well as the overall ethos of the 90s), classic rock, and the blues, musically, but my earliest influences are the classical pieces of Holst, Wagner, and Mozart.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I grew up undiagnosed autistic and always felt different. Music helped me to connect. I feel like the music I write is expressive of that and can resonate with so many, but currently my reach is limited. A chance to perform at such a festival would allow me to connect with so many more people than I otherwise would be able to. I want to be able to spread optimism and positivity to the world.
What would you do with $50,000?
I'd love to knock down some of mine and my wife's student loans and plan a small regional tour. I also have two albums planned this year, and the prize would make those possible.
