Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I make punk music but I find myself drawn more to the art rock/indie rock scene of 70s New York or 90s independent music. David Berman, Molly Nilsson, Lou Reed, Bowie, Stephen Malkmus, Conor Oberst, Nick Blinko, Will Toledo, also Sophie, always Sophie. David Lynch too, I take a lot of inspiration from movies. I love anything lonely and uncanny. I chase that surreal feeling that you don’t understand but you can still feel.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I think being on a huge stage would be incredible for us. Out live show is insane and we put so much passion into it. It’s palpable. Also it would mean a lot to me having 4 trans women on a huge stage, I want to inspire people that would need that, as much as I wanna confront people that would hate it.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would put a lot of it into recording our new record. Making a video, doing those kind of rounds. Getting some gear. I might go back to school as well. I wanna learn things travel, put some into a tour, I would donate some to LGBT charity and Gaza relief as well.
