Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I call my inspirations my musical family tree: Busta Rhymes (Father), Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes (Mother), Eve (Aunt), Common (Uncle), Method Man (Uncle), Kendrick Lamar (Cousin), Kanye West (Uncle), Missy Elliott (Auntie). I write about my life, experiences, and relationships, and overcoming obstacles and self-motivation, to inspire what I create. I also love all types of music genres from R&B, Funk, Afro-Cuban, and Alternative.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I’ve been on the Chicago hip-hop scene for over 12 years. I’ve been blessed to create several projects and perform nationally and internationally. Performing at this caliber at the Global Citizen Festival will expose more people to what I do and connect me with other artists in the industry, which will assist in elevating my brand.
What would you do with $50,000?
As an independent artist, $50K would be life-changing. I’d invest in producing new EPs and LPs, professional marketing, touring, and building long-term income streams such as investing in video and photography gear and an online store featuring merch, e-books, video tutorials, and more. This isn't just about one project; it’s about creating sustainable systems so I can keep making music, growing my audience, and living off my art. This prize would help turn passion into a lasting leg
