Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My music is deeply rooted in the duality of my upbringing — raised in Atlanta, the epicenter of hip hop innovation, within a Nigerian immigrant household rich with the sounds of Afrobeats, Fuji, and Highlife. Atlanta gave me the grit, bounce, and storytelling of hip hop, while Nigeria gave me rhythm, soul, and a global perspective. That fusion shapes my sound — a bridge between two musical powerhouses, and a reflection of the world I come from.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen would be a powerful milestone in my 10-year journey — a full-circle moment. After three years performing in Lagos, returning to the U.S. stage would honor how both Nigeria and Atlanta have shaped my story. It’s more than a show — it’s a statement about global identity, growth, and the sound I represent.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d use the $50,000 as a down payment on a home to rebuild what I lost in 2020. Like many musicians, I faced deep hardship and had to leave the space that once served as a creative hub for Atlanta artists. My goal is to create a new home that fosters community, collaboration, and creativity — not just for me, but for the city.
