Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Growing up in church, it was my grandfather who pushed me to sing in front of the congregation at only 6 years old. The pure joy that I felt leading my church family in worship and the excitement that I felt knowing they were in awe of gift were the driving forces behind my pursuit of a career in music. Fast forward to now, artists like India Arie, Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, and Lauryn Hill inspire me with their lyricism and transparency.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
An opportunity this great would allow me to expand the range of conscious R&B. It would allow my voice to be heard on a large platform, and give my lyrics the chance to resonate deeply with hundreds of thousands of people.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest the money back into my brand, using it to fund my project on both the production and marketing sides.
