Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My mom and my grandmother really shaped my musical experiences growing up. My mom got me into Soul, RnB, and Rock n Roll while my grandmother listened to a lot of Gospel and the Blues. My music teacher in High School wanted me to sing Opera so I got into that genre. I fuse all styles in my music in some way. I am inspired by music from all over the world. Music is my inspiration!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would impact my career in a major way. I have been paying my dues and being consistent as an Artist. I keep reminding myself that the studio sessions and money has not been in vain. This performance would allow me to introduce myself to a larger audience. My music is LIT and I won’t stop ever. This performance would solidify me in the music industry as a force to be reckoned with. King Daggalee at the Global Citizen Festival would be ICONIC.
What would you do with $50,000?
The money would be a seed for my artistry as well as my philanthropic endeavors. Along with singing and songwriting I develop artist and use Art to heal youth. I work with community organizations in South Los Angeles to artistically identify high risk youth to join an artist development crew. For six weeks you BECOME an artist in your identified talent. We build support, create, and communicate. We use Art to reshape our community. They learn that being an artist is an assignment.
