Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I take musical inspiration from strong women who are unafraid of their power. Florence Welch, Hayley Williams, Kelly Clarkson and Shoshana Bean inspire me every day. These women inspire me to be unafraid of my voice, my sound, my style, my power. Women are so often told to make themselves smaller. These women stand in their knowing that they deserve to be seen and heard.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
We now, more than ever, feel so divided. Music is a language we can all speak. It has always been my goal to use my music to create a safe space for all to come together to laugh, cry, sing, dance and love. Performing at Global Citizen Festival would provide an amount of visibility that will allow me to continue to build my fan base and work my way towards creating a community of love, music and universal language.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use the $50,000 to film a music video with my photographer and aesthetic collaborator, Ryan Clemens (Most known for his work with Chappell Roan). Making a music video would allow me to get closer to my listeners by inviting them into my visual universe. I would also be able to make my second studio album. I have so much more to say. I have so much more to share. I am ready to take my songs out of my voice memo app and put them into the world.
