Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I take musical inspiration from multiple genres and artists, from the poetic storytelling of Taylor Swift and Lizzy McAlpine, to the calming folk styles of Joan Baez. I like to mix and match with my genres and ways of storytelling because I think that's the best way to express human emotion. No feeling is exactly like the other, similar but not identical. My style blends not only emotion with imagination, but also reaches for something offbeat yet deeply relatable.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would greatly improve my career because it would allow me to connect with other artists, and meet people who have similar passions and/or stories as me. My goal as a singer-songwriter is to be someone many people can relate to. I've gone through my own struggles in life, and I want my music to be a sun spot for those who have gone through or are going through hardships. I think performing at the Festival would help jumpstart that dream of mine.
What would you do with $50,000?
With the $50,000 I would probably use some of it to pay for the rest of my degree and build my music journey. Education is super important to me, and due to FAFSA regulations I may not be able to finish my degree. I would also put some of the money towards helping others have the ability to explore what they are passionate about.
