Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My life and my family. From being a foster kid, to now having this great life and this great family, 3 kids and a wife I love, music has always been my outlet. I treat it like therapy…it helps me process the hard seasons of life in a positive way. My newest songs just flowed out of me while my family was in the hospital for 6 months with our youngest daughter as she battled cancer. The music was instrumental in her healing and I thought maybe it was time to let the world hear it too.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
My family and I have come through a very tough season lately and had to shut our construction company down to focus on our daughter’s healing journey. I’m looking at this as a fresh start, a new direction. To do something I’m really passionate about. It’s time to shine!
What would you do with $50,000?
The money and this competition would first and foremost help me kickstart my music career and get my songs out there to everyone who needs some positivity in their lives. It will also help get us out of debt from being in the hospital for so long. And maybe we could take a much needed family vacation too!
