Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by artists who break boundaries—Fiona Apple and Brittany Howard for their fearless storytelling and sound, and Japanese Breakfast and Mitski, two Asian American women who, like me, are carving out space in rock. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen would be a huge stepping stone for me. It would help me get closer to my dream of playing more festivals and hopefully landing an opening tour slot. It would also give me the chance to reach new listeners and share the kind of honest, bold songwriting that’s at the heart of everything I do—while continuing to represent voices that aren’t often heard in rock.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d use the $50,000 to help fund new recordings, videos, touring, and to build a team. I’d also give back to my parents, who have supported me since the start by covering my first studio sessions, music lessons, and driving me to gigs. It would finally ease some of the financial weight my family and I have carried to pursue my career and give me some security as an independent artist, especially with the real fear of not having insurance while chasing this dream.
