Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Nelly Tiger Travis is certainly an inspiration for me in the southern soul world. But I do love and admire the old school vocals and style of Millie Jackson. And our Ancestors, the great Blues ladies, Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey. Raw, righteous and truth telling.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Besides giving me a platform to be exposed to a hugh audience it would also provide me the ability to dedicate more time for getting to and performing at more events and marketing for Lena Mae.
What would you do with $50,000?
It would be used to market my album, pay for travel expenses for performances, and to make a new videos for my songs "Its Summertime" and "City girl with a Southern Soul".
