Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m often cited for having a diverse range of musical inspirations that shape my sound, which blends Americana, Soul, Gospel, and R&B. Some of my primary influences include:Bill Withers because of his storytelling & soulful delivery. Donny Hathaway-the emotional depth & vocal style have influenced my approach to music & songwriting. James Taylor-I draw folk sensibility & introspective lyricism. Al Green– his classic style of soul.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a transformative milestone in my career as a singer-songwriter. This stage is more than a platform for music—it’s a gathering of voices committed to positive change. Sharing my music would allow me to connect with a global audience that believes, as I do in the power of art to heal. Performing would not only elevate my career, but also empower me to use my platform to advocate for meaningful causes & movements.
What would you do with $50,000?
If awarded I would invest into creating & sharing music that uplifts & heals. A portion would go toward producing a new album that explores themes of love, hope, & social change—collaborating w/ musicians from diverse backgrounds to amplify a message of unity. I’d use funds to grow my current community of music workshops & mentorship programs for aspiring young artists. I’d dedicate resources to carry my late Father’s torch for mental health initiatives.
