Lightnin' Joe draws his musical inspiration from the deep well of Chicago blues, especially the hard-driving, rhythmic styles of Junior Wells, James Cotton, and Muddy Waters. Influenced by raw harmonica tones, gritty vocals, and electric energy, he blends classic blues with his own soulful edge, honoring legends while carving his own sound.

Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would elevate my career by showcasing my music on a global stage, connecting me with diverse audiences, and aligning my blues-driven sound with a powerful cause. It’s a chance to inspire, collaborate, and use music as a force for unity and change, amplifying both my voice and the message behind it.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I’d create a program to provide instruments and music lessons for youth, especially those in recovery or at risk. Music changed my life, and I want to share that healing power. I’d fund workshops, buy gear, and build access to creative outlets, giving young people the tools to express themselves, find purpose, and grow through the transformative gift of music.
