Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I find musical inspiration all over the place! I grew up listening to artists like The Chicks, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, and Aly & AJ. I love pulling sonically from all kinds of genres from rock, alt, indie, and pop. Lyrically I draw primarily from my own experiences - every song of mine feels like a diary entry and even though it’s sometimes scary to put those feelings out there, I find that the authenticity of my lyrics is what people gravitate towards.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would be an absolute dream come true - two of my biggest goals are to tour and play a festival!! Sometimes it feels like a pipe dream but I’m working my hardest to make that dream a reality! I love live shows because it allows me to connect with listeners face to face instead of seeing numbers through a screen. Live music is magical because it brings communities together and I'd love the opportunity to continue to build my community at GCF!
What would you do with $50,000?
If I won 50,000 dollars all of the money would go directly back into my career! It would go into funding my headline tour with a full band, into creating my next album, funding music videos, and building a team of people around me to continue to grow with. And maybe I’d buy myself a couple iced chai teas or sour candy as a treat!
