Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I'm a huge fan of indie music. Bands like Alvvays, the Cocteau Twins, Dresses, and artists like Paul Simon, Lucy Dacus, Weyes Blood, and Katie Gavin are big inspirations for me. I love anything a little jangly, and a little retro, paired with confessional lyrics.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This could only benefit my career. Playing at a big festival is a big dream of mine. I took a long break from performing while I was figuring out what I wanted to do after college. Getting back into it has been beyond rewarding. I finally want people to see me, and listen to what I have to say, on bigger and bigger stages.
What would you do with $50,000?
This would help me immensely. I would be able to record more of my songs, and be able to spend my time and energy on curating an artistic vision. I'm a trained classical singer, and I want to be able to incorporate elements of that into the indie world without it feeling too forced. I want to create a sound that feels vintage, but also fresh.
