Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by the era when activism met art rock—Live Aid, Peter Gabriel, U2, and Green Day showed how music could move people and movements. Sonically, M4TR draws from Arcade Fire, Djo, The Killers, Talking Heads, and Duran Duran. It’s danceable defiance—emotional urgency, social commentary, and a beat that won’t let go.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be a full-circle moment—merging activism and music on a global stage in the spirit of Live Aid. In a moment of rising authoritarianism, climate crisis, and cultural rage, our defiance against demagogues and oligarchy deserves a soundtrack. M4TR was built to channel rage, resilience, love and joy into urgent anthems. Global Citizen would amplify not my voice but the voices of others and align our mission with a global movement.
What would you do with $50,000?
I'd pair up with a producer to remix tracks from my third album Love Is the Revolution and some back catalog as extended 12-inch dance tracks in the spirit of the 80s vinyl era. I'd also work on two new albums: Wintering, a downbeat Britpop eulogy on my band's breakup, and Solarpunk, a electro-dance concept album exploring AI, techno-utopianism, and its eventual unraveling. If there's money left, I'd fund a small U.S. tour with a new entourage.
