Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I was initially inspired to create music after listening to Actual Life by Fred Again, but have since drawn a lot of inspiration from Beltran, Cloonee, Chris Lake, and Oppidan.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This would be a huge step for me. I just graduated from school in Nashville and have since been DJing at clubs around NYC, but self-promotion is really a grey area for me. I really think that getting this exposure and meeting the other amazing artists at the festival would help me get a clearer picture of what I need to do to succeed in my career as an artist.
What would you do with $50,000?
If I were fortunate enough to win the $50,000, my plan would focus on both personal growth and long-term community impact. I'd use a portion of the money for studio upgrades such as monitors, a new interface, and synths, and I'd dedicate the remaining money to support NYC music non-profits like Musicians on Call and Building Beats. I've done a lot of research into these organizations, and would love to put a lot of the reward money towards supporting their causes.
