Who or what is your musical inspiration?
i love women in music. i have been lucky to watch generations of women become and succumb to the industry and time and time again have been moved by the power of their words. i love taylor swift, ashlyn rae willson, hanna mars, SZA, kehlani, fleetwood mac, joni mitchell, maggie rogers, and boy genius. my entire foundation is in writing.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
obviously it would be life altering. i love performing the most out of all things music. being on stage is where i fell in love and what got me back into singing. i’d find an audience that really resonates with my work. i have an album, i just need the resources to finish it and i’d hope this competition would be my ticket to making that a reality.
What would you do with $50,000?
i have an album that is just in need of being completed (recording and producing). i would use this money to do that and *hopefully* find a publicist i could retain for the next two years to help with the role out.
