Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My all time great inspiration is Stevie Wonder, but I draw from everywhere. I have a deep love for prog rock like Yes, Gentle Giant, or Meshuggah, classic Afro-Cuban music such as Perez Prado, Celia Cruz, or Irakere, and plenty of jazz (Wayne Shorter, Errol Garner) and RnB/soul (Mint Condition, Donny Hathaway, Prince)
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Ideally, performing at the Global Citizen Festival would provide greater reach for my music and hopefully garner more of an audience. I think in the current way art thrives, it takes a smaller group of a dedicated fanbase versus “world domination” so any moment to get yourself out to as big of a crowd as possible is helpful. Some things will stick with some, and not with others.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I’d be happy to not have to worry about rent for a couple of years, help out my mom, and put a bit aside to fund my next record.
