Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My first inspiration was Travis Barker. I was playing Guitar Hero World Tour and he was a special star there. When I saw his mohawk, I immediately made one and immediately had a fight on a Russian street because in post-communist countries, people don't like when others try to be different. That's how I recognized what a freedom fight is. After seeing Barker's style, tats, and mohawk, I formed my first band and asked my mom to buy me a guitar, and we started making music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I can't call it my career; it's just my life, basically. Just another step to show the world that everything is possible if you follow the way of your heart. I remember when I was a kid, I was inspired by more people than just Barker, and all of them always listened to their hearts. So that's the type of energy I go for.
What would you do with $50,000?
I want to bring to the States a girl who is waiting for me and believes in me. She lives in Moscow and doesn't have the chance to make her trip here. She wants to run a dog care business or a shelter-type thing if she comes to us. I'd like to make that happen for her. The rest I will reinvest into our project. I'd like to show more people they can be free, using their art as their job to help others around them with their talents. I know that everyone is gifted, but people are scared.
