Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m a multi-instrumentalist inspired by artists like John Mayer and Bruno Mars. As a songwriter, I draw from Jack Johnson and Brazilian writers like Estevão Queiroga and Vinicius de Moraes. On guitar, my influences range from B.B. King, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan to John Mayer, Mateus Asato, Joe Bonamassa, and bossa nova players. On saxophone, my biggest inspiration is Leo Pellegrino, whose bold and energetic style deeply moves me.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a dream come true. I’m a Brazilian artist based in SoCal, raised in a poor family where music was my escape. Now I’m studying in California, chasing this dream with everything I’ve got. I can’t afford studio time, so I record demos in my room and upload them to SoundCloud, hoping someone’s listening. I submitted a few tracks to the Next America Hitmaker contest because this stage could turn my hustle into something
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, the first thing I’d do is help my family back in Brazil since they’ve sacrificed so much so I could chase this dream. After that, I’d invest in my music: professional recording, mixing, mastering, and visuals to finally bring my sound to life. I’d build a stronger presence on streaming platforms and social media, and create opportunities for other artists like me who come from humble beginnings but have big dreams.
