Who or what is your musical inspiration?
While we draw inspiration from many sources, our sound is heavily inspired by 1980s new wave and 2000s post punk revival which manifests in our songwriting as an emphasis on complex rhythms and attention-grabbing hooks. We are particularly big fans of Talking Heads, The Strokes, and their related projects. Fans compare us to The Police and They Might Be Giants. Some trained ears clock our iconic Argentinian guitar. We are motivated by other local NYC bands, grinding like us to make a big impact.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen would not only allow us to reach a whole new audience on such an incredible stage, but also the opportunity to perform alongside others that share a vision of ending poverty for the most vulnerable peoples. Additionally, it would encourage other musicians who are starting out that they too can also find success when they put in the effort and utilize their platform to get fans interested and invested in social justice causes.
What would you do with $50,000?
Receiving $50,000 would be life-changing. It would fund our first full-length album and a local tour—dreams we've had since we began. This support would also let us hire local artists, engineers, photographers, and videographers, helping grow their portfolios while we bring our vision to life and uplift our creative community together.
