Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by the women who broke barriers and tattooed our hearts indelibly with incredible songwriting and performing. Greats like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Janis Joplin, Emmy Lou Harris, Dolly Parton, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde and Emily Saliers…There are so many to listen to and admire. These fearless musicians have written and performed powerful music from the depths of their souls. Their songs shaped my life. They make me strive to be the best possible musician I can.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The journey to performing at the Global Citizen will impact my career in a positive way. It will allow me to share my love of music and passion for songwriting with a really worthy cause. Driving positive world actions through a community of musicians and music lovers is a wonderful way to grow as a person and a performer. Getting to perform at the festival will allow me to do good works AND share my music with a lot more people. That’s a gift I would treasure.
What would you do with $50,000?
$50,000 would be life changing for my family!! Wow!!! That kind of money would give me the resources I’d need to return to Nashville and perform original music all over Music City!!!!
