I believe that music is the connection to the divine. If you stay in alignment, your gift will always resonate.
Thank you for generously supporting Micah Lamar Burns in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to empower Global Citizen in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am heavily inspired by gospel titans such as The Clark Sisters and Erica Campbell. Overall, I am inspired the greatly by Beyonce in terms of artistry. All of these lovely people have used music to heal the world!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This would be an excellent platform to "make my debut" to a really dope crowd of individuals. I would truly be able to show the world who I am and the power of art (even when everything may feel dark).
What would you do with $50,000?
I am a visual music artist. I am also a composer. My music has a very cinematic feel. With that said, projects do have a price tag. $50,000 would allow me to record my debut album with some phenomenal musicians. It would also allow me to create visuals. The remaining amount would help me get the equipment I need!
