Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We are mainly inspired by early 2000's Garage rock bands like The Strokes and Interpol, as well as more modern indy rock acts like The Backseat Lovers, Hippocampus and Marlon Funaki. Individually we all have very different and lengthy backgrounds in classical, opera and musical theater and our interests stretch from punk to reggae, but we all have grown to love similar music as a band and it creates a really fun sound that entertains a lot of people, since it just feels familiar.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As students, we have had a lot of success on campus and in surrounding schools but it has been extremely hard to break out beyond our communities. We have put everything we can in the last year to produce the best performance we can and we are ready for people to see and hear it. We recently released our first EP at the Troubadour in Hollywood and want to continue riding our momentum to bring our music to everyone else who feels a sense of nostalgic belonging when they listen and see us play.
What would you do with $50,000?
We're all students entering into our senior year of college, $50,000 would be more than life changing. It would allow us to focus the entire next year on our music and our studies, instead of trying to juggle part time jobs, looking for full time employment after school as well as our obligations as musicians and students. It would mostly give us the funds to push the effort we are already putting in. We are beyond dedicated to making this happen and the money would only improve our capability.
