Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I was inspired by my late uncle McD, a Tanzanian cultural icon legendary hip-hop breakdancer in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and later the top Tumba player for African Stars Band (Twanga Pepeta) until his passing. Born and raised in Tanzania, I stuttered badly as a kid but discovered I didn’t when I sang. That moment made music my voice and healing. Today, I fuse Swahili rhythms, soul, blues, and poetry into powerful, emotional songs that tell real stories and bridge cultures.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would amplify my voice to the world stage turning my story into global inspiration. It would connect me with a purpose-driven audience, open doors to global collaborations, and align my artistry with causes that matter. It’s not just a performance, it’s a platform to represent where I come from and where I'm headed.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I would upgrade my home studio, invest in professional equipment, and complete two upcoming albums. I’d also market my music to new audiences and collaborate with other artists. Most importantly, I’d donate 15% to a kids' cancer cause in Atlanta because giving back is part of who I am.
