Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspirations are many but to narrow it down: Crass, The Damned, Bauhaus, World Inferno Friendship Society, Woody Guthrie, Malvina Reynolds, Eddie Cochran and Elvis Presley.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would definitely be the biggest audience I’ve played for, which is exciting. If even one person connects with what I’m saying or doing, that’s what matters most to me. I’ve got a lot I want to express, and being on stage is where I feel most energized. I’d use that momentum to book a tour and keep pushing forward.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would definitely upgrade some of my gear, my wife is supportive and we budget what we can for my music but with a young son, a daughter in college, all our cats, dog, and my disabled MIL who lives with us, we have a lot of fiscal responsibility that comes before me getting a new mixer or mic. I would also get my son a full drum kit, he’s been playing since he was 5, he’s 8 now and has outgrown his mini kit.
