Who or what is your musical inspiration?
When I’m creating songs it’s always an improvisation, just like life. I slow down find a channel for Nature to speak. I think about the many profound realities we all live, the end of suffering on the earth, saving our environment. Music is therapy for me, I love the thought of someone out there receiving the same healing that I have from my songs. Some of my musical inspirations: Kendrick Lamar, Bob Marley, Dead Prez, XXXtentacion, Tissilawen, Akae Beka, Lauryn Hill, Daniel Caesar
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would give me a chance to share my music and my soul with a large audience. I would love for more people to discover my music and tap into the many moods and phases of the moon I’ve captured sonically. I’d love to see an audience light up and feel inspired listening to my beats, hearing my subtle story. I bet it would inspire me to write more songs! Grateful for the opportunity to be heard and make connections! It’s my dream to score movies with my compositions someday.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would definitely invest in creating the recording studio set up of my dreams, invest in my vegan grab n go / catering business Vital Vegan, help my two sons Gyasi and Menelik pay off their student loans and I would love to attend Full Sail University so I can learn everything I’ve been trying to teach myself about audio engineering. Maybe take a vacay to Puerto Rico and swim with the turtles once again!
