Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Part of what makes my sound unique, and what I think helps me never run out of ideas, is that it’s impossible to narrow down my influences. They come from a wide range of artists and genres that sometimes can be very different from each other. Just to name some and show this diversity in taste, however: The Beatles, Kanye West, Arctic Monkeys, Lana del Rey, Marvin Gaye, David Bowie, The Strokes, Elliott Smith, Black Sabbath, and the list goes on.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I can’t stress enough that I think my music just needs to reach as many ears for that very first time as possible. I think an audience that big hearing my tracks, both currently released and unreleased, can really turn most fans of music into fans of Moonstand. It’s sophisticated and complex enough for a seasoned listener, or other musicians, while still being catchy and a great experience for the average listener
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use it to fast track my learning and finish my degree of mass communication studies and music. I’d then use it to put a down payment on a house where I can start building an at home studio. From there, the rest will be put towards recording time at a local professional studio to up my game
